Thursday, April 13th, 7:00pm - Maundy Thursday Service Cancelled.
"MUANDY" is a corrupted form of the latin mandatum from which we get our English word "mandate." It means to hand over or to give as to an order or command. Over the years this mandatum or mandatus became corrupted in use and evolve into the word Maundy which we utilize today. Jesus gave us the order or mandate to observe the sacraments of communion. Matthew 26:26-27. We will also offer a foot washing ceremony which Jesus did for his disciples during the Passover meal. John 13:1-5. This cermony will be optional but I would encourage you to prayerfully consider participating. |
